Abstract:
By means of the image encoding method and apparatus and the image decoding method and apparatus provided in the present application, the cost overhead and the power consumption of an encoder and a decoder can be reduced. The image encoding method may comprise: reading, from a first memory, a first sub-image of a first frame image, and storing the first sub-image in a second memory, wherein the first memory is an off-chip memory, and the second memory is an on-chip memory; encoding a base layer of the first sub-image on the basis of the first sub-image, so as to obtain a code stream of the base layer of the first sub-image, and a first reconstructed image; writing the first reconstructed image into the second memory; reading, from the second memory, the first reconstructed image and the first sub-image; and encoding a first enhancement layer of the first sub-image on the basis of the first reconstructed image and the first sub-image, so as to obtain a code stream of the first enhancement layer of the first sub-image, and a second reconstructed image.
