Abstract:
Provided is an image forming apparatus in which, through a single operation, a photosensitive drum can be brought into contact with an intermediate transfer belt and a development roller can be then brought into contact with the photosensitive drum. This image forming apparatus comprises a main body case, a cover, a drum cartridge 40, a development cartridge 50, an intermediate transfer belt 63, and a moving cam 110. The moving cam is located at a first position when the cover is located at an open position, is located at a second position while the cover moves from the open position to a closed position, and is located at a third position when the cover is located at the closed position. When the moving cam is located at the first position, the photosensitive drum 41 is separated from the intermediate transfer belt 63, and the development roller 51 is separated from the photosensitive drum 41. When the moving cam is located at the second position, the photosensitive drum comes into contact with the intermediate transfer belt, and the development roller is separated from the photosensitive drum. When the moving cam is located at the third position, the photosensitive drum comes into contact with the intermediate transfer belt, and the development roller comes into contact with the photosensitive drum.
