Abstract:
Provided is a technique that enables managing of the service life of a consumable longer even when there is a limit set on a counter mounted to a consumable memory. A controller (61) executes: a first setting process for setting a value of a first unidirectional counter in a second unidirectional counter after a consumable is recycled for the first time; a second calculation process for subtracting the used amount of the consumable from a value of the second unidirectional counter in place of the first unidirectional counter; and a second residual amount calculation process for calculating the used amount of the consumable by subtracting the value of the second unidirectional counter from the value of the first unidirectional counter, and calculating the residual amount of the consumable by subtracting the used amount of the consumable from capacity information.
