Abstract:
An image forming device (36) comprises runners (13) that rotatably retain flanges (2) that are attached on either end of a paper roll (1); a roller (10) that rotatably retains the flanges (2) together with the runners (13); platforms (3) whereupon the runners (13) and racks (4) are attached; a pinion (5) that meshes with the racks (4) attached to each platform; a potentiometer (22), the resistance value whereof changes in tandem with the rotation of the pinion (5); an A/D converter (20) that outputs a value on the basis of the resistance value; and a computation means (17) for computing the width of the paper roll on the basis of the outputted value of the A/D converter (20).
