Abstract:
The present invention provides a video decoding method comprising the steps of: determining a tree structure for partitioning the current block, among candidate tree structures allowed for the current block; partitioning the current block according to the determined tree structure; and decoding a subblock of the current block, which has been partitioned from the current block, wherein the candidate tree structures include a geometric partitioning tree structure, the geometric partitioning tree structure including at least one among a triangular quadtree structure, a geometric binary tree structure, and an asymmetric ternary tree structure.
