Abstract:
The quality of images is improved in a compound-eye type image pickup device.
A plurality of lines in each of which a plurality of pixels that generate pixel signals through exposure when an exposure start signal is supplied are arranged along a certain direction are provided on a light receiving surface. First and second lenses form, on the light receiving surface, first and second images of which partial and overlapping portions overlap with each other. A scanning unit supplies an exposure start signal to a line selected by sequentially selecting lines in the overlapping portion of the first image among the plurality of lines, and a line corresponding to the selected line in the overlapping portion of the second image. A combining unit combines a plurality of images generated by pixel signals into one image.
