Abstract:
In order to perform high-accuracy motion detection processing while reducing processing time, an image pickup device (1) according to the present invention is provided with: an image pickup unit that chronologically acquires images of a subject; a hierarchical motion detection unit (14) that is capable of detecting motion vectors between the images acquired by the image pickup unit, using images on two or more levels having different resolutions; a pixel-value change detection unit that divides the images acquired by the image pickup unit into a plurality of partial regions and detects a change over time in the pixel value of a detection pixel set in each partial region; and a hierarchical motion detection setting unit (15) that performs setting so that greater numbers of levels are set in the hierarchical motion detection unit (14) for partial regions that include detection pixels having greater changes detected over time by the pixel-value change detection unit.
