Abstract:

An image pickup device and image pickup system by which an image having a resolution higher than that of a photographed image can be synthesized, and a method for photographing an image are provided. The image pickup device is composed of an optical imaging section (11) (an optical imaging means for imaging an image of an object), an image pickup section (12) (a means for spatially breaking up an optically imaged image and converting it into a sampled image signal), an image processing section (15) (a means for generating high resolution image from image signal of a plurality of frames), a moving speed detecting section (13) (a means for detecting status change of the image pickup device itself), and an image pickup timing deciding section (14) (a means for deciding image pickup timing). The image pickup device is provided for synthesizing a high resolution image from an image pickup element having a small number of pixels.
