Abstract:
This image-processing apparatus (2) is intended to accurately calculate the reflection characteristics of parts of a subject, even when capturing an image of a subject having depth, and is provided with: a high-luminance area extraction unit (16) for extracting high-luminance areas, which are areas of luminance higher than a threshold value, in a plurality of image signals produced by irradiation with light outputted by a known light source (S) and capture of an image of reflected light from a subject (P) from multiple, mutually different viewpoints; a localized area extraction unit (17) for extracting localized regions of maximum focus in parts of the subject (P), using a plurality of high-luminance areas extracted by the high-luminance area extraction unit (16); and a reflection characteristic estimation unit (18) for estimating reflection characteristics of the subject (P), using the light source characteristics of the high-luminance areas, in the localized areas extracted by the localized area extraction unit (17).
