Abstract:
This image processing apparatus (1) is provided with: an image data acquisition unit (10) that acquires data of a SPECT image of a brain; a brain region ROI setting unit (13) that sets a brain region ROI in the SPECT image; a striatum ROI setting unit (14) that sets a striatum ROI in the SPECT image; a histogram generation unit (15) that generates a histogram in which the horizontal axis represents classes of count values, and the vertical axis represents the frequency of unit regions corresponding to each class; a threshold determination unit (16) that determines a threshold for identifying a cerebral ventricle and a sulcus in the SPECT image on the basis of count values in the background of the SPECT image wherein the striatum ROI is excluded from the brain region ROI; a region identification unit (17) that identifies a region with a count value less than or equal to the threshold and a region with a count value greater than the threshold; and an SBR calculation unit (18) that calculates a specific binding ratio (SBR), excluding regions with count values less than or equal to the threshold. This makes it possible to eliminate the influence of the cerebral ventricle and the sulcus in calculation of the SBR, using only nuclear medicine image data.
