Abstract:
Disclosed are: an image processing device comprising a subject tracking function which achieves good performance while suppressing power consumption; and a control method therefor. The image processing device includes a first tracking means and a second tracking means having a higher processing accuracy and a larger computation load than the first tracking means. The image processing device calculates an evaluation value relating to tracking difficulty for a subject region to be tracked, said subject region being determined on the basis of a processing target frame to which tracking processing is to be applied. On the basis of the evaluation value, the image processing device enables both the first tracking means and the second tracking means, or disables the first tracking means and/or the second tracking means, for a frame following the processing target frame.
