An image processing device comprising: a reliability calculation unit that calculates the reliability of character recognition results for document images that are character recognition targets, calculating same on the basis of feature values for character strings for specific items included in the document image; and an output destination selection unit that selects the output destination for the character recognition results, in accordance with the reliability.
