Abstract:
A need exists for a technique of readily and efficiently performing manual modifications for three-dimensional areas of interest automatically extracted for volume data. An image processing device comprises: an extraction executing unit that extracts, form volume data, a three-dimensional initial area that satisfies a predetermined condition; an area modification executing unit that modifies the initial area, thereby extracting a three-dimensional modified area; and a visualization executing unit that creates, from the volume data, a plurality of cross-sectional views of a three-dimensional image and outputs at least some of the plurality of cross-sectional views. In a case of displaying the initial area, the visualization executing unit selects one or more cross-sectional views having voxels included in the initial area and outputs the selected one or more cross-sectional views in such a manner that the voxels included in the initial area can be distinguished from the other areas. In a case of displaying the modified area, the visualization executing unit selects one or more cross-sectional views having voxels included in the modified area and outputs the selected one or more cross-sectional views in such a manner that the voxels included in the modified area can be distinguished from the other areas.
