Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to an image processing device and an image processing method that make it possible to further improve prediction accuracy. This image coding device is provided with: an inter prediction unit that, when performing motion compensation processing to which an interpolation filter has been applied on a current prediction block subject to coding processing to generate prediction pixels in the current prediction block, performs cross-component inter prediction by applying an interpolation filter targeting a color difference component of the current prediction block and using both an image luminance component and an image color difference component; and a coding unit that uses the prediction pixels to encode current pixels in the current prediction block. The present technology is applicable to, for example, image processing systems that perform coding and decoding using VVC.
