Abstract:
The present invention pertains to an image processing device and an image processing method which enable minimizing reduction in subjective image quality while suppressing load growth. The present invention involves calculating a required point density which represents the density of points necessary to display a point cloud object, on the basis of a display size of said point cloud object in accordance with a relative position of the point cloud object with reference to a viewpoint, and selecting a content file that has an LoD where the density of points of said point cloud object is equal to or greater than the required point density thus calculated. The present invention is applicable to, for example, image processing devices, information processing devices, playback devices, 3D rendering devices, electronic devices, the methods therefore, and the like.
