The present invention relates to the technical field of video processing, and provides an image processing method, an electronic device, and a readable storage medium. In embodiments of the present invention, the method comprises: extracting at least one frame of reference video image in a video to be processed, the number of reference video images being less than the number of video images comprised in said video; performing, according to the comparison between any pixel point in the reference video image and the surrounding background of the pixel point, region identification on the at least one frame of reference video image to determine a first target region in each frame of reference video image; and for each frame of reference video image, determining, according to the first target region in the reference video image, a second target region in another video image associated with the reference video image in said video. In this way, the computing resource and time used for determining target regions in video images can be reduced to a certain extent, and the efficiency of determination is improved.
