Abstract:
An image-reading device (200) is provided with a first detection unit (45) for detecting that the front side of a cover (5) is within a first distance (L1) to a copy holder (40), a second detection unit (46) for detecting that an opening/closing support part (44) is within a second distance (L2) to the copy holder (40), and a control unit (8). The control unit (8): acquires first detection information due to the first detection unit (45) and second detection information due to the second detection unit (46), respectively; and identifies, on the basis of the first detection information and the second detection information, whether a copy set in place has a thickness equal to or greater than a fixed value.
