Abstract:
An image recognition device comprising: a storage unit whereupon feature points are registered for each of a plurality of model images; a feature point extraction unit which extracts feature points from an inputted image; and an identification unit which compares the feature points of the inputted image and the feature points of each model image in order to computes a first degree of similarity between the inputted image and each of the model images, and identifies the inputted image on the basis of the first degrees of similarity. The identification unit computes a first degree of similarity by adding a score for each input image feature point that matches a feature point in a model image for which a first degree of similarity is to be calculated. The score that corresponds to a feature point increases the fewer model images there are that include that feature point among the plurality of model images.
