Abstract:

Provided is a printer capable of outputting status information of a type which is in accordance with a mode in which the status information is used, and which is in accordance with the type of requester requesting the status information. A controller of the printer, upon acquiring an output request (S31: Yes), determines the type of acquisition source of the acquired output request (S32), and designates, according to the determination, the type of output request as a first request type, a second request type, or a third request type (S33-S35). Further, the controller reads, from a memory, mode information indicating a first mode in which the printer is used in a contractual use mode or a second mode in which the printer is used in a normal use mode (S36). The controller then specifies, in a correspondence table, a status information type corresponding to the type of output request and the mode indicated by the mode information (S37), generates output data including the status information indicated by the specified status information type (S38), and outputs the generated output data (S40-S42).
