Abstract:
A transmitter apparatus (2) transmits both encrypted image data, which is obtained by using an authentication code as an encryption key to encrypt image data, and first conversion information, which is obtained by using a one-way function to digest the authentication code, to an image recording apparatus (1). The image recording apparatus (1) uses the one-way function to digest the authentication code, which is directly received from a user, and produces second conversion information. When the second conversion information produced by the image recording apparatus (1) is coincident with the first conversion information received thereby, the image recording apparatus (1) uses the received authentication code as a decryption key to decrypt the received encrypted image data into image data, and then reproduces and records images based on the decrypted image data.
