Abstract:
An image retrieval device (300) with which: a first image characteristic amount pertaining to a retrieval subject image is obtained; an image characteristic amount similar to the first image characteristic amount is retrieved from multiple image characteristic amounts; a linear transformation parameter is selected from a set of linear transformation parameters which are based on multiple image characteristic amounts pertaining to multiple photographic subject images obtained for the same photographic subject under multiple conditions, said selection being made on the basis of the first image characteristic amount and an image characteristic amount pertaining to the photographic subject; the first image characteristic amount is transformed by means of the selected linear transformation parameter, and the image characteristic amount which is the result from a retrieval unit is transformed by means of the linear transformation parameter; and the transformation results are output.
