Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to an image sensor and an electronic instrument configured such that performance can be further improved. This image sensor comprises: a photoelectric conversion unit provided to each of a plurality of pixels positioned in a matrix shape on the sensor surface; TG transistors that transfer charges generated by photoelectric conversion in the photoelectric conversion units to an FD node; and TGD transistors that transfer the charges generated by photoelectric conversion in the photoelectric conversion unit to an SN node. At least some of a prescribed number of pixels that constitute a luminance shared unit used for sharing the FD node, and pf a prescribed number of pixels that constitute an event shared unit used for sharing the SN node, have differing sharing destinations. This feature is applicable to, e.g., an image sensor that detects the occurrence of an event and acquires an image.
