The present invention relates to the technical field of information processing, and in particular, to an image storage method, an image reading method, an image storage device, and an image reading device. The image storage method comprises: performing wavelet transformation on an original image to obtain wavelet transformation coefficients corresponding to multiple levels of sub-images; obtaining target wavelet transformation coefficients corresponding to the sub-images of which the levels are greater than or equal to a preset value; and encoding the target wavelet transformation coefficients into a DNA sequence according to a preset corresponding relationship between a DNA base sequence and the wavelet transformation coefficients. In the present invention, according to the importance of the levels and types of the sub-images to image reconstruction and the data volume of the sub-images themselves, the target wavelet transformation coefficients corresponding to the sub-images satisfying requirements are selected for DNA encoding, so that the encoded data volume can be effectively compressed, the high-definition decoding can be guaranteed, and the efficient storage of image data is implemented.
