Abstract:
Electric charging of a camera (100) and data backup are performed at the same time, so that image taking can be made independent of available memory. When the camera (100) is set on a cradle (200), data of images taken by a camera module (110) of the camera (100) is directly transferred for recording to a HDD (220) of the cradle (200), and image data already recorded in a flash memory (133) of the camera (100) are backed up in the HDD (220) of the cradle (200). Further, a charging circuit (204) of the cradle (200) charges a rechargeable battery of the camera (100) by using electric power supplied via an AC cord (280). Also, the cradle (200) has a hole (270) for a tripod to enable image taking with the cradle fixed to the tripod.
