Abstract:
An XY address scan imaging device such as a CMOS imaging device in which the flicker of a fluorescent lamp can be correctly detected with high accuracy and the flicker component of the fluorescent lamp can be reliably and adequately reduced. The RGB primary color signal generated by A/D-converting the RGB primary color signals obtained from an imaging element are clamed. For the clamped RGB primary color signals, the gain between read channels is corrected, the fixed pattern noise is reduced, the data on the defective pixels is corrected, the noise is reduced, the lens shading is corrected, the gain is adjusted for exposure adjustment, and a flicker detecting/reducing section (60) detects and reduces the flicker component. The white balance of the RGB primary color signals after the flicker reduction is adjusted, and the defective pixels of the imaging element are detected from the RGB primary color signals after the white balance adjustment.
