Abstract:
This imaging device is equipped with: an imaging unit which is provided with an imaging element; a first video signal processing unit which generates a first video signal having a first dynamic range from a pixel signal obtained from the imaging unit; and a second video signal processing unit which generates a second video signal by generating, from the first video signal, an information signal comprising at least the high-pass luminance variation component of a high luminance portion of the first video signal, suppressing the luminance value of the high luminance portion of the first video signal to generate a suppressed-luminance video signal having a second dynamic range that is narrower than the first dynamic range, and adding the suppressed-luminance video signal to the luminance variation component information signal.
