The purpose of the present invention is to provide a camera device capable of removing dirt effectively from a lens by determining a state of dirt adhered thereto through image recognition and controlling the cleaning and wiping of the lens in accordance with the state of the dirt, thereby ensuring transparency of the lens under any driving condition. The imaging device with a cleaning function comprises: a wiper driver equipped with a wiper blade for wiping the surface of a camera lens; a cleaning-liquid discharge port equipped with a cleaning-liquid discharge nozzle for discharging cleaning liquid onto the surface of the camera lens; and an image recognition unit for determining a state of dirt adhered to the surface of the camera lens. The imaging device is configured to switch between a cleaning-liquid dropping mode in which the operation of the cleaning-liquid discharge port is controlled in accordance with the state of dirt determined by the image recognition unit, and a wiping mode in which the wiper driver is operated in addition to the control of operation for the cleaning-liquid discharge port.
