Abstract:
An imaging device having a plurality of imaging modes and a zoom lens used for the imaging device. Even when the valid image area dimension of the imaging element is changed by imaging mode switching, it is possible to mitigate the change of the view angle and maintain a preferable aberration correction in each of the imaging modes. In the imaging device (1), at the position nearest to the image of the zoom lens (2), an additional lens group (G5) having a positive refractive power capable of being inserted into and detached from the optical axis is inserted into or detached from the optical axis when switching the imaging mode, so as to reduce or extend the zoom lens focal distance range. This mitigates a change of the view angle generated by a difference in dimension of the valid image region of the imaging element (12) when each of the imaging modes is selected and detects insertion and detachment of the additional lens group into/from the optical axis, thereby setting the state of each component in accordance with each of the imaging modes.
