Abstract:
The present technology relates to an imaging element and an electronic apparatus in which the dynamic range of a photodiode is increased. The imaging element comprises: a photoelectric conversion unit for converting light into electrical charge; three or more storage units for storing electrical charge temporarily; a transfer unit for transferring electrical charge from the photoelectric conversion unit to the storage unit; and a conversion efficiency switching unit for controlling the state of electrical continuity between the storage units. Of the three or more storage units, at least two are capacitive elements. The three or more storage units store electrical charge that has overflowed from the photoelectric conversion unit. The present technology is applicable, for example, to an imaging element for capturing an image.
