Abstract:
An imaging system having a camera body (14) as an imaging device and also having
an optical remote controller (12) as an instruction device formed as a separate
body from the camera body (14) and adapted for transmitting an imaging execution
command to the camera body (14) to cause it to perform imaging. The optical remote
controller (12) transmits authentication information to the camera body (14)
to cause it to authenticate the optical remote controller (12). The camera body
(14) receives and recognizes the authentication information transmitted from
the optical remote controller (12) and, based on the recognized authentication
information, limits a predetermined function, such as playback of captured
images, of the camera body (14) itself based on the recognized authentication
information.
