Abstract:
The present invention relates to an immunopotentiation composition comprising an (Artemisia gmelinii extract as an active ingredient. Exhibiting immunopotentiation effects by proliferating T cells, increasing the production of the cytokines IL-2 and IFN-γ, the peritoneal macrophage-activating cytokines IL-6, TNF-α, and IL-12p70, and the immune cells whole blood cells (WBC), neutrophils, lymphocytes, and monocytes, upregulating the expression levels of serum IgG and fecal sIgA, and augmenting the activity of natural killer cells, the Artemisia gmelinii extract of the present invention can be advantageously used as an immunopotentiator. In addition, the Artemisia gmelinii extract of the present invention is stable in vivo because not causing cytotoxicity, and thus can also be utilized even in an immunopotentiation food composition, pharmaceutical composition, quasi-drug composition, or feed composition.
