Abstract:
An implantable medical device includes a secondary coil that receives an RF signal provided from an external terminal through the induced electromotive force of a primary coil equipped in the external terminal. The RF signal includes a power signal necessary for the implantable medical device and a data signal modulated by the power signal and necessary for controlling the implantable medical device. The implantable medical device includes: a power processing block for converting the received power signal into DC power available for the implantable medical device; a data communication circuit activated by the DC power provided from the power processing block and demodulating the modulated data signal from the RF signal; a charging circuit for charging a battery by using the DC power provided from the power processing block; and a control unit operating by using operating power provided from the battery and controlling the implantable medical device in response to the demodulated data signal.
