Title:
IMPROVED CONTINUOUS CRYSTALLIZATION METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2004/037759
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A continuous crystallization method involving supplying a raw material for crystallization containing bisphenol A to a crystallizer to crystallize bisphenol A or an adduct of bisphenol A and phenol, and subjecting a slurry withdrown from the crystallizer to solid-liquid separation to recover crystals, wherein a part of the mother liquor is recycled to the crystallizer. The method allows the reduction of the heat to be removed, resulting in the suppression of the deposition of solids on an interior face of the crystallizer, in particular, the heat transferring surface of a cooler, which leads to the elongation of the continuous operation period of the crystallizer.
