Provided is an in-line strainer that is able to more reliably prevent solid foreign matter and the like from adhering to a portion of a screen in a concentrated manner and accumulating. In this in-line strainer a housing 9 includes a tubular wall 24 that is formed as a hollow tube and extends in a vertical direction, and a ceiling wall 25 covering the upper end of the tubular wall 24. A filtration chamber 8 is divided into a first flow passage chamber 39 that is formed on the upper side and communicates with an inflow port 6, and a second flow passage chamber 40 formed on the lower side and communicating with an outflow port 7, and a through-hole 38 is provided between the chambers 39 and 40. A screen 10 comprises a filtration tube 33 having an opening on the upper and lower ends and formed in a hollow cylindrical shape that is longer in the vertical direction, and a bottom cover 34 covering the lower-end opening of the filtration tube 33, and an introduction port 36 permitting the entrance of a fluid is formed at the upper end of the filtration tube 33. The screen 10 is arranged inside the filtration chamber 8 in an orientation such that the introduction port 36 faces the through-hole 38, and the outflow port 7 is formed in the tubular wall 24 facing the lower half of the filtration tube 33.
