Title:
IN-MILLIMETER-WAVE DIELECTRIC TRANSMISSION DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME, AND WIRELESS TRANSMISSION DEVICE AND WIRELESS TRANSMISSION METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/035660
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An electromagnetic wave based on a millimeter-wave signal can be transmitted in a dielectric transmission path, and communication cables, connectors, or the like which connect two signal processing boards as in a conventional system can be eliminated, by devising the support structure between two millimeter-wave signal processing boards and a signal transmission method. An electronic device provided with a plurality of circuit boards uses a support member for supporting the circuit boards as the transmission path of a wireless signal.  For example, the electronic device is provided with a first printed circuit board (1) for processing a millimeter-wave signal, a second printed circuit board (2) which is signal-coupled to the printed circuit board (1) and receives the millimeter-wave signal to subject the received signal to signal processing, and a waveguide (513) which is disposed with a predetermined dielectric constant between the printed circuit boards (1, 2), wherein the waveguide (513) constitutes the dielectric transmission path, and the waveguide (513) supports the printed circuit boards (1, 2).  This configuration makes it possible to receive the electromagnetic wave based on a millimeter-wave signal radiated from one end of the waveguide (513) constituting the dielectric transmission path, at the other end thereof.
