Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an in-vehicle camera device which can continue to precisely measure inter-vehicle distances even when some of preceding vehicles are located in a dead angle of the in-vehicle camera. The present invention provides an in-vehicle camera device provided with: two imaging units disposed on the left and right sides to be close to each other; a parallax distance measuring unit which measures a distance from an obstacle in a pair of captured images captured by the two imaging units from a parallax between the pair of captured images; a feature point extracting unit which extracts a feature point of the obstacle from the captured image captured by one of the pair of imaging units; a monocular distance measuring unit which measures a distance from the obstacle in the captured images on the basis of the distance measured by the parallax distance measuring unit and the movement distance of the feature point after the parallax distance measuring unit measures the distance; and a distance output unit which selects and outputs one of the distances from the obstacle, which were measured by the parallax distance measuring unit and the monocular distance measuring unit.
