Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: an in vivo indwelling object which is prevented from the invasion of a biological tissue or the like into void spaces located at an end part of a stent cover and is reduced in the risk of the breakage of the stent cover or the detachment of a stent; and a method for manufacturing the in vivo indwelling object. [Solution] Provided is an in vivo indwelling object (10) provided with a tubular stent (20), a stent cover (30) which has a tubular shape, has void spaces (32) and is formed from a fiber (31), and a filling element (40) which fills at least some of the void spaces (32) in the stent cover (30), in which the void spaces (32) are regions each surrounded by the fiber (31) and are arranged continuously in a circumferential direction and an axial direction on the whole circumference and over the entire length, void spaces (32) which are located on an axial-direction end part of the stent cover (30) and are arranged in a circumferential direction are defined as end-part void spaces (35), and the filling element 40 is filled in at least some of the end-part void spaces (35).
