Abstract:
A table for indexing a rotary table on which a work is loaded and mounting and dismounting a positioning coupling by means of a tool head of a machine tool. Three-piece or two-piece coupling (50) performs indexing and positioning of a rotary table (1). A screwing action of a screw (7) and a wedging action of a cam disk (71) perform engagement and disengagement of engaging teeth (11) of the three-piece coupling and rotary teeth (5) of the two-piece coupling. When the screw (7) having a large diameter is used, a cutting reaction force transmitted from the coupling (50) can be distributed over the entire screw to avoid stress concentration. Further, since the screw having a small number of threads can serve the purpose, a table casing (17) can be made thin. When the cam disk (71) is used, friction between it and a cam roller (76) makes rolling friction, so that a small force can perform engagement and disengagement of the coupling (50) and a manual operation is made possible.
