Abstract:

An indicator for plasma sterilization which comprises a colorless coloring matter, a coloring aid and a binder and undergoes a color change upon hydrogen peroxide cold plasma sterilization. The indicator is used through applying or printing an ink comprising the indicator and a solvent capable of dissolving it. The indicator is suitably used, in the sterilization of medical materials and devices by the hydrogen peroxide cold plasma sterilization method, for determining by color change whether a material or device to be sterilized has been subjected to a sterilization treatment or not, or whether sterilization has been effectively performed or not.
