Title:
INDIRECT MATRIX CONVERTER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/020664
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An indirect matrix converter couples a converter (2) to an inverter (6) via a positive bus line (4p) and a negative bus line (4n). The anode of clamp diode (28u) is connected to the positive bus line (4p), the cathode of clamp diode (28u) is connected to one end of a capacitor (30), the other end of the capacitor (30) is connected to the anode of clamp diode (28d) and the cathode thereof is connected to the negative bus line (4n). An upper-side discharge blocking snubber circuit (20u) is disposed on switching elements (16uu to 16uw) of the inverter (6), and a lower-side discharge blocking snubber circuit (20d) is disposed on switching elements (16du to 16dw) of the inverter (6). Discharge resistor (26u) of the upper-side discharge blocking snubber circuit (20u) is connected to the anode of diode (28d) and discharge resistor (26d) of the lower-side discharge blocking snubber circuit (20d) is connected to the cathode of diode (28u).
