Abstract:
One form of an indium tin oxide powder has a specific surface area of at least 55 m2/g, and has a bright yellow to yellowish-red color, or a full width at half-maximum for the peak of the (222) plane of not more than 0.6° on an X-ray diffraction chart. Another form of the indium tin oxide powder has a modified surface, a specific surface area of at least 40 m2/g, a full width at half-maximum for the peak of the (222) plane of not more than 0.6° on an X-ray diffraction chart, and is a dark blue color (L=30 or less in the Lab Color System). The production method for the indium tin oxide powder comprises: a step in which indium tin hydroxide having a bright yellow to yellowish-red color in a dry powdered state is co-precipitated using a divalent tin compound, under conditions in which the pH is 4.0 to 9.3, and the solution temperature is at least 5°C; and step in which the indium tin hydroxide is dried and sintered.
