Abstract:
This indoor unit for an air conditioner is provided with: a fan 6 for taking in air from an air intake opening 2; a heat exchanger 5 which is disposed outside the fan 6, exchanges heat with the air taken in from the air intake opening 2, and comprises a front surface-side heat exchange section 5a and a rear surface-side heat exchange section 5b; an air flow passage 7 through which the air taken in by the fan 6 flows; an air discharge opening 3 for discharging the air having been subjected to the heat exchange by the heat exchanger 5; and a rear guider 7a forming the rear surface side of the air flow passage 7 and located between the fan 6 and the rear surface-side heat exchange section 5b. At least the surface of the rear surface-side heat exchange section 5b, which faces the rear guider 7a, has a shape change section 5w located at the portion of the at least the surface, which is located closer to the rear surface side than the upstream-side upper end of the rear guider 7a, and the shape change section 5w changes to a shape which curves or bends toward the fan 6. The lateral width of the body 1 of the indoor unit, in which the heat exchanger 5 is mounted, is reduced to provide excellent installation properties, appearance, etc.
