Abstract:
Provided is an indoor unit that makes it possible to maintain the distance reached by an airflow discharged from a discharge port even during low load operation. The indoor unit (3) comprises an indoor fan (32), a casing (39), a flap (35), and an indoor control unit (62). The indoor fan (32) is a cylindrical cross flow fan. The casing (39) accommodates the indoor fan (32) and has formed therein a discharge port (39b) for discharging an airflow generated by the indoor fan (32). The flap (35) opens and closes the discharge port (39b). The indoor control unit (62) controls the orientation of the flap (35). When the air volume (Vf) generated by the indoor fan (32) or the rotational speed (Rm) of the indoor fan (32) becomes equal to or less than a predetermined value during low load air conditioning operation in which the load of air conditioning operation is low, the indoor control unit (62) executes first control for controlling the orientation of the flap (35) so that a ventilation path (40) formed by the flap (35) and the discharge port (39b) is narrowed.
