Abstract:

　The objective of the present invention is to provide a competitive enzyme immunoassay (EIA) method which can quantitatively measure indoxyl sulfate in the blood.　This competitive method for measuring indoxyl sulfate includes: (1) a step in which albumin in a specimen is pretreated; (2) a specimen-antibody reaction step in which the pretreated specimen and anti-indoxyl sulfate antibodies are brought into contact with each other in the substantial absence of exogenous mammalian albumin; (3) a solid phase insoluble support (IS)-antibody reaction step in which liquid from the specimen-antibody reaction is brought into contact, in the substantial absence of substantially exogenous mammalian albumin, with a solid phase IS in which indoxyl sulfate is immobilized and which has been subjected to blocking in a buffer solution substantially containing no mammalian albumin; and (4) a step in which anti-indoxyl sulfate antibodies which have bonded to the solid phase IS are detected.
