Abstract:
An induction heater (1) comprises an inductor (6) which can adjust the inductor
gap (H), i.e. the interval of the opening (3) of a C-shaped core (2), upper and lower
core legs (4a, 4b) of the opening (3) being wound with heating coils, a means (15)
for detecting the electric power of the measured heating coil as a measurement
of electric power, a heating condition setting means (11) for setting a target
electric power depending on the optimal heating conditions of the heating coil,
a means (16) for converting a target electric power into an optimal inductor gap
value and converting the measurement of electric power into a measurement of
inductor gap, a means (17) for calculating a gap deviation, and a gap motor control
means (19) for controlling a gap motor (19) so as to adjust the inductor gap based
on the gap deviation.
