Abstract:
A drive device and a wire break detection device according to the present invention each comprise: an n-type MOSFET which is connected between an inductive load and a ground; a flyback diode which is connected in parallel with the inductive load; a first Zener diode in which a cathode is connected between a drain of the n-type MOSFET and a parallel connection circuit of the inductive load and the flyback diode, and which breaks down by a surge voltage from the inductive load; and a control circuit which determines that there is a wire break of the flyback diode and stops driving of the n-type MOSFET when the terminal voltage of an anode of the first Zener diode is higher than a set voltage. It is thus possible to deal with the presence or absence of a wire break in a flyback line even when the on/off timing of an inductive load is unknown.
