Abstract:
Provided is an indwelling needle assembly having a novel structure that can solve at least one of inherent problems of indwelling needle assemblies having the conventional structure. This indwelling needle assembly 10 comprises a needle tip protector 66. The needle tip protector 66 has needle tip protection parts 72a, 72b located laterally away from an inner needle 14. The indwelling needle assembly 10 comprises an abutting part 60 that stops at an outer needle hub 20 and abuts on the pair of needle tip protection parts 72a, 72b to displace the needle tip protection parts 72a, 72b in the direction approaching the inner needle 14, and consequently leads the needle tip protection parts 72a, 72b to a protection position at which the needle tip 22 of the inner needle 14 having been drawn is covered, when the inner needle 14 is drawn from an outer needle 18. A pusher 54 that switches a valve body 62 is disposed at a position closer to the base end than the valve body 62 within an outer needle hub 36. At least a part of the needle tip protector 66 is housed inside the pusher 54.
