Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: an indwelling needle which, when inserted into a blood vessel, enables easy visual determination of reverse blood flow without removing one's gaze from the needle insertion point; and an indwelling needle use method involving such an indwelling needle. This indwelling needle (10) has: an inner needle (1) that is equipped with a leading end part (5) to be inserted in a blood vessel, a shaft part (2) connected to the leading end part (5), and a support part for supporting the shaft part (2); and a cylindrical outer needle (6) that is provided so as to enclose the lateral surface of the inner needle (1), wherein a space (4) is created between the outer needle (6) and the shaft part (2) of the inner needle (1) so as to serve as a flow channel for blood. The space (4) is formed from a groove (7) that is continuously provided in a helical or linear fashion in the shaft part (2) of the inner needle (1).
