Abstract:
An information acquisition device (100) acquires a target sequence, which is a target of a guide RNA introduced into fission yeast together with enzymatically inactive dCas9 protein so as to suppress expression of a target gene, the information acquisition device (100) comprising an acquisition unit (1) for acquiring, among an upstream target sequence adjacent to the PAM sequence in genes of fission yeast, a target sequence in which an intermediate base is positioned within a region including 30 bases located upstream from the transcription initiation point of the target gene and 150 bases located downstream from the transcription initiation point, wherein when the target sequence is formed of an odd number n of bases, the 0.5(n+1)-th base from the 5' terminal is taken as the intermediate base; and when the target sequence is formed of an even number m of bases, the 0.5m-th or 0.5(m+1)-th base from the 5' terminal is taken as the intermediate base.
