INFORMATION DEVICE HAVING TIME CORRECTING FUNCTION AND CLOCK CORRECTING METHOD

The clock of a device connected to a 1394 serial bus is set correctly. A time information transmitting device for providing time information transmits relative time information relative to the real time with reference to the cycle time representing the cycle time of the 1394 serial bus and cycle time information serving as the reference of the relative time to a time information receiving device of which the time is to be set correctly. The time information receiving device calculates the correct time from the relative time information received and the value of the cycle time which the time information receiving device has acquired and correct the time. The time range that the cycle time can exhibit is from 0 second to less than 128 seconds. This restriction is relaxed by setting up synchronization with the cycle time and making the use of the bus time that has a wider time range to exhibit.
